We all love an opportunity to save a little money. Free samples, in-store coupons, and price comparisons are something nearly all of us have probably taken part in. So why is it so hard for us to take the right steps to save money in our own homes?
Usually, it’s because we don’t really know how to start. A little bit of effort can lower your bills more than expected, while a big change can help quite a lot. Whatever you choose to do, it will be worth it in the end when you see your monthly bills!

In the summer, we can be swamped with high humidity levels that make us sweat. Relative humidity is a measurement of the amount of water vapor in the air, which can be quite problematic when too high. Your body needs to evaporate moisture to cool off, so you can feel even warmer when humidity levels are high. There’s also a higher chance of mold growth in your home and other problems thanks to the moisture in the air.
But it’s not yet spring, and we don’t have those problems yet. In fact, you might have the opposite issue. Dry air can cause a lot of problems for you, your health, and your home. Get relief through the cold weather and prepare for next year’s flu season with the help of a whole-house humidifier.

Yes, as heating and air conditioning technicians, we would like to remind you of how important it is to keep the air filter clean. This means that you need to replace it every 1-3 months, depending on how often you use it. Or, if you have a reusable filter, then you’ll have to clean it and let it fully dry before replacing it.
You might have heard this before, and you may or may not have followed the advice. Did you know what makes changing the filter so important? You might not have heard all this before.

When you’re looking for a new home comfort system, you’ve probably already got a pretty good idea of the basic systems out there. There are furnaces, for heating, and central air conditioners, for cooling. For the most part, air conditioners and heaters are completely separate systems, although they do typically share the same blower fan to distribute air throughout your home.
There is, however, another option that uses the same components to heat the home as it does to cool them, and that’s the heat pump. Heat pumps actually use refrigeration for both heating and cooling, and you’ll see what’s so great about this in the guide below. For more information, contact our friendly team!

Sometimes, a homeowner upgrades their air conditioning and heating systems only to leave the same aging thermostat on the wall. As your technician may likely tell you, this shouldn’t have any effect on the way your heater or air conditioner operates as long as the thermostat is compatible (as it will still be calibrated and able to detect changes in temperature). However, you are missing out on the opportunity to save big time.
Whether your heating and air conditioning systems are brand new or ten years old, we recommend upgrading that wall thermostat to a smart thermostat you can control with your phone or tablet. Learn more about the benefits of smart thermostats and why you should make that upgrade in today’s guide.
